Life Off Leash Family began with a simple idea: build our life around the things that matter most to us.
Time together. Meaningful work. Places worth exploring. Things made by hand. And the freedom to follow an idea simply because it matters to us.
For our family, that means a life shaped by the outdoors, craftsmanship, adventure, and a slower, more intentional use of our time.
So we're building it.
The Landscape
North Idaho became the landscape for the next chapter of our family's story. Here, our days are shaped by the seasons, the work in front of us, and the people around us.
Our children get to ask questions, get their hands dirty, and watch an idea become something real.
We want them to experience the freedom of curiosity and the satisfaction of following it.
Season One
Our first production follows the construction of an 18'10" Southwester Dory, built by hand inside a canvas wall tent workshop in North Idaho.
The boat brings together everything we want to document: craftsmanship, problem solving, family, adventure, failure, persistence, and the satisfaction of making something yourself.
The boat is simply where the story begins.
Our Foundations
Our North Star principles guide what we pursue and the life we create together.
Family is our foundation. Everything we build begins there.
We find meaning in making things well. Understanding how things work, giving attention to the details, and being fully present in the process.
We care for the people, places, and things that make up our lives, and we strive to leave them better than we found them.
We believe growth is fundamental to life. Depth, purpose, and lasting satisfaction come from remaining open to learning and change.
